PURPOSE OF THIS JOB
The POS Development Manager is responsible for all aspects of POS management and innovation. From item concept to in-store placement, the PDM owns all facets of the process. The PDM will work closely with Red Bull’s Global Trade Marketing team to ensure alignment while driving local market needs. The PDM will also align closely with Red Bull North America’s Operations, Brand Marketing and Field Sales Force teams to ensure an efficient, premium and effective POS Portfolio.

MAJOR ACTIVITIES TO ENSURE ACHIEVEMENT OF KEY RESULTS AND DELIVERABLES

1.     Leads Red Bull Innovation in the Retail Environment

        a.    Attends Industry Trade Shows to integrate new, cutting edge solutions into RBNA POS Portfolio

        b.    Leads RBNA POS Innovation team

               i.     Work with RBNA HQ and BU stakeholders to identify team members

               ii.     Lead quarterly POS Innovation workshops to deliver tangible innovation

               iii.     Position Red Bull as an innovator in the mind of the Retailer, Consumer and Industry

        c.     Deliver a minimum of 4 Retail Innovations from concept to execution each year

2.     Own the RBNA POS Portfolio

        a.     Proactively maintains, refreshes and improves Red Bull portfolio

                i.     Leads Bi-Annual POS Portfolio Analysis to identify key areas of need to keep all Red Bull POS “best in class”

                ii.     Works to optimize current portfolio of items to increase effectiveness and functionality

        b.    Collaborates with Field Sales Force and Key Accounts Management to create custom POS solutions across all channels:

               i.     Grocery

               ii.     Convenience/Drug

               iii.     Mass Merchandisers

               iv.     Club Stores

               v.     All Non Traditional Channels

        c.    Creates briefs to guide agencies and suppliers on the development of new POS items

               i.     Ensures RBNA retains IP rights to all new creative developments

               ii.     Leads inter-department project management of all POS items to deliver on time

                       1.     Communicates timelines and expectations to Field and Distributor Network

                       2.     Creates and publishes internal and external National/BU level In-store Calendar aligned with RBNA Brand Marketing

               iii.     Establishes alignment with Global and National Key Stakeholders

               iv.     Areas of development include visibility tools, temporary displays, metal racks and cold equipment

3.     Establishes role as the ambassador of POS throughout RBNA

        a.     Becomes point person for the Field, Distributor Network and in all details pertaining to POS Portfolio

        b.    Develops communication strategy to announce all new items with usage information

        c.     Deliver tool kit to communicate all POS tools Ex. Off Premise Tools Book, POS Suite Announcements

4.     Aligns with POS Management on Key Elements of BP Process related to POS Items and Timing

        a.     Delivers annual BP POS Item list aligned with RBNA Operations for Field Sales Force POS Planning

        b.    Contributes in the forecast process between the Field, HQ Operations and Finance for demand planning and expense requirements

        c.     Reviews forecast of POS items and suggests benchmark volumes based on historic and analytical data in conjunction with POS Planning and Usage Specialist

5.     Responsible for Management and Development of POS Development Coordinator

6.     Ownership of Trade Marketing Department’s POS Development Budget Allocation and Strategy

KEY RESULTS AND DELIVERABLES (WHAT DOES SUCCESS LOOK LIKE)

  1. Drive innovation through Field Sales Force integration and industry expertise
  2. Manage and evolve POS Portfolio to constantly align with key Sales and Marketing goals and initiatives
  3. Clear communication of all POS tools and strategies to Field Sales Force
  4. Manage efficient delivery of all new POS items from concept to in-store execution
  5. Deliver 8+ custom POS solutions for top retailers
  6. Refresh current general POS items innovative concepts for each channel
  7. Strategic analysis of Field POS Usage, Ordering and Spend to continuously improve RBNA POS portfolio
  8. Deliver annual POS Benchmarking survey to inform short, medium and long term POS development strategy
  9. Build POS Development bench strength through POS Development Coordinator Management.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  1. 5 years consumer goods industry experience with exposure to Point of Sale usage or development
  2. University – Bachelor’s Degree required
  3. Travels 10-15%
  4. Strong project management and planning skills
  5. Exceptional communication skills, including presenting and collaboration abilities
  6. Creative mind, experience working with Agencies or Production suppliers preferred
  7. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  8. 2 Years Personnel Management Experience
