Retail Display Engineer

Job Description:
Premier manufacturer of POP displays and retail fixtures located in the Chicago suburbs is seeking an exceptional design engineer with 3 -7 years industry experience. We are a stable family owned company with almost 60 years experience serving some of the biggest brands and retailers.

Candidates should have a mechanical engineering background and knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes used in the construction of permanent displays and fixtures. Responsibilities will include engineering of custom displays, supervision of prototype development, creation of quote drawings, production documents and bills of materials. This position will include direct interface with account executives, designers, estimators, production staff and outside vendors. Our ideal candidate would have excellent organizational and creative skills, knowledge of metal tubing, sheet metal and wire fabrication techniques as well as molded plastics and wood components. Required Skills:

• Solidworks or similar 3D CAD software
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Microsoft Excel and Outlook
• Ability to research materials and processes
• Experience in metal, plastics, wood and electronics
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
